Outdoor family photo shoots here in North and West Yorkshire are a great way to capture natural, authentic moments and genuine smiles. These sessions suit all ages and allow kids to run around and enjoy themselves! If your child feels a bit camera-shy, there’s no need to worry – my sessions are relaxed and child-led, creating a comfortable atmosphere for everyone.
With my background as a primary school teacher, I bring a calm, easygoing approach. We’ll explore our chosen location in a beautiful Yorkshire setting, play a few games, and usually end up catching some bubbles too. My style is natural and informal, so the photos reflect genuine, moments in a friendly, relaxed way.
We can capture any mix of photos that you would like – whether you want the focus to be on the children, include lots of shots with the grown-ups, or a combination of both, we’ll discuss your preferences at the start of the session so I know exactly what you have in mind.

Why choose a Weekday Session?
This package is ideal for families with pre-school children or those with flexible schedules. Weekday sessions offer more flexibility, quieter locations, and a relaxed pace. I also have limited availability during school holidays, perfect for families with older children. If you’re looking for beautiful family portraits without the weekend rush, this option is for you!

Weekend Family Photo Shoot – Ideal for Busy Families
What’s included?
- Sessions typically start at 9:00 or 9:30am to make the most of the day before locations get busy
- 1.5 hour outdoor photo shoot at a location in North or West Yorkshire (see above for details)
- All edited digital images included, perfect for printing, social media, or keepsakes
Why choose a Weekend Session?
Perfect for families with older children or those who prefer weekend availability, these sessions provide a relaxed and fun way to capture family moments. Due to high demand, weekend slots are limited and tend to book up quickly, so early booking is advised to secure your spot.
All-Inclusive Pricing
I offer a straightforward pricing structure for my outdoor family photo sessions, with no hidden costs. Each session includes the photoshoot and all the best images, typically 50+ (but usually more!). These are carefully edited and delivered via a high-resolution digital download in your private, password-protected online gallery. I will never try to upsell you extra images – I always include absolutely all the good images from our shoot as it is important to me that you receive as wide a selection as possible from our session. This ensures no hidden extras – you’ll have full access to your images, ready to download, print and share as you wish. You are not tied in to me for prints (though prints can be ordered through your online gallery should you wish).
The all-inclusive fixed fee includes the following:
- Your photo shoot, which will last approximately an hour and a half at an agreed location within approximately 45 minutes drive from BD20
- I will then select all the best images and will individually and carefully edit these – this stage usually takes around a week
- Your own password protected online gallery from where you can view and download the edited photos in high resolution. The photos can be viewed and downloaded as many times as you want, so feel free to send the link around your family if they’d like their own copies too.
Your payment is broken down as follows:
- A £50 non refundable deposit is required within 7 days of booking to secure your chosen date (of course we can reschedule if it rains at no extra charge)
- The remaining balance is then due on or before the date of the shoot
- Payment can be made securely online using credit/debit card, bank transfer, or cash on the day if preferred
I like to keep my pricing simple, with no hidden costs or upselling. This is why I charge a fixed fee which includes both the photo shoot and all the best edited digital images from the day (at least 50+ but usually many more). Should you wish to purchase prints through me then you are able to do so easily online via your gallery, however you aren’t tied in to me for prints and you are welcome to use your downloaded files at any print lab you choose.

1. contact me
Either using the Contact Me button below, or send me an email at hello@laurahartleyphotography.co.uk. I’ll send you through a detailed map of my favourite locations, as well as a link to my online booking calendar so you can easily see what dates are available.
2 – £50 deposit
After you’ve selected your chosen date and time, I’ll send you an online payment link so that you can pay the £50 deposit to secure the booking, payable within 7 days. You can pay using debit/credit card or Apple/Google Wallet. Now you’re all set!
3. before the shoot
In the run up to the shoot, I’ll be in touch again to arrange the finer details like exactly where to meet, answering any questions you might have and letting you know what exactly to expect from the session. We’ll keep an eye on the weather too just in case the forecast is wet and we decide it’s best to reschedule.
4. after the shoot
The remaining balance is due on the day of the shoot, and you can pay using the same online link as the deposit. Meanwhile, I’ll get busy editing all the best photos (at least 50, but usually many more). Your gallery will be ready about a week after the shoot, and you can then download all the photos.
